I love white. I really love white purses. Every summer I either buy or make one, and usually by the end of the summer, they are so grungy not even bleach can help them. I realize its not the most practical color, and I don't care. I love white purses. I've had my eye out for one this summer, but as usual, everything in the store just looked....blah or expensive. Thankfully, an unknown stranger provided me with some inspiration. I was walking out of restaurant and she was walking out as well...with a purse just the shape and style that caught my attention. "Lady", I thought to myself, "your purse and I could be good friends". I can't remember anything but the pleats...and that's what I used as my starting point to create my own summer purse.
Sorry, no tutorial on this one. I'd be happy to make one if there is sufficient interest though. The outside is made with white linen, and the inside is a happy yellow polka dot. Perfect fabrics for a summer purse. I put in four pockets to keep my stuff tidy.
The bow just kind of happened to find its way to the front. I think it just makes it perfect! I do love me some bows and ruffles.
I might be slightly obsessed with yellow these days...and turquoise...mixed with a lot of white of course. I'm sure you can't tell by the look of my blog or anything. They just speak summer to me.
Well, I could continue rambling about how much I love my purse...and I love that its white...but I think you get the point. =) So where do you get your creative inspiration from? Stores? Magazines? Your head? Random people walking out of restaurants?
